Easy to cook and delicious Chicken Stew.

Chicken Stew is a type of soup or sweet soup that is famous in Indonesia. The way of presentation is very different in some areas. The taste of the sweet sauce is the hallmark of this Chicken Stew. Semur comes from the Dutch language, Smoor, which means the dish has been slowly boiled with tomatoes and onions. Smoor in Dutch also means braising or a way of cooking by boiling for a long time over low heat until the meat is tender. Over time, the Chicken Stew has become an Indonesian food tradition and is served at various events. Indonesian people make stews as part of a tradition that is always served during Eid and weddings. Not only as a culture, but stews also often appear at celebration events in various parts of the archipelago such as Sumatra and Kalimantan. Of course, with a taste and appearance that is adapted to the local community. Sweet sauce (kecap manis) and sugar make the Chicken Stew brown and sweet. For meat, you can use beef/chicken. This meat is sauteed for a while, then put into the stew.   • 400g of chicken breast, cut into thin slices
  • 2 potatoes, cut into squares, then fry
  • 2 tomatoes, split into four
  • 1 L water
  • 2 tbsp tamarind water
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 lemongrass
  • ½ tsp nutmeg powder
  • 4-5 tbsp sweet sauce
  • 5 shallots
  • 3 garlic
  • 1 tsp beef powder
  • ½ tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp pepper

Fry the potatoes until brown, then remove from heat.

Marinate the chicken breast with tamarind water and salt, leave it for 15 minutes.

Saute chicken breast until cooked, then remove from heat.
